Known to everyone by name, Arnold Schwarzenegger is a personality who deserves our attention. We will here retranscribe the life of bodybuilder "Schwarzy".
Born on July 30, 1947 in Austria, Arnold Schwarzenegger suffered a mistreatment of his father who does not "love him" because he does not meet the conformities. At 13, he became passionate about bodybuilding. He later takes Reg Park as a model.
He is a former English bodybuilder who became Mr Universe and made a fortune after a stint in cinema and having invested in the world of sport. It was around age 14 that he began to train, and this, every day. In 1963, he finished 2nd in a competition for minors in Austria. A year later, his father forbade him to go to the gym more than 3x a week, Schwarzy bypassed this rule by building his own gym at home.
In 1965, while in Austrian military service, he won the junior title of M. Europe by escaping from the barracks. A year later, he finished 2nd of Mr. Universe in London.
In 1967, he questioned his training, and to improve his areas of delay, he invented new exercises. He becomes, then, the youngest winner of Mister Univers (amateur) at the age of 20 years.
Arnold left for the United States in 1968, he participated in the American Universe where he finished 2nd because the level was much higher.
It was in 1970 that he reached the Grail by finishing 1st of Mister Olympia. He took revenge on the previous year and his second place. At 23, he became the youngest winner of this competition, a record held to this day. There follows a reign of 7 victories. The funny thing about his last victory: nobody knew he was participating !
When he retired to devote himself to his second passion, cinema, he secretly decided to participate in the competition and used the preparation for the film Conan The Barbarian to disguise his intention. When people see him on the plane, they say he is invited by the federation. The surprise is total when he is called, everyone understood that he was going to participate. Schwarzy did not come to watch but he come to win.
Schwarzenegger is for me one of the greatest athletes of all time. It represents a value of sport: never give up.
